Marta Kauffman

Marta Kauffman is an American television writer and producer, best known as the co-creator of the popular NBC sitcom Friends. Alongside her longtime friend David Crane, she also served as an executive producer for the show, as well as for Veronica's Closet, Jesse, and Related. Kauffman and Crane were the creators of the HBO series Dream On. In addition to her successful TV career, Kauffman co-created the Netflix series Grace and Frankie. Born into a Jewish family in the Philadelphia suburbs, Kauffman attended Marple Newtown High School and later earned a BA in theater from Brandeis University. She is a former member of the Sigma Delta Tau sorority.
