Martie Maguire

Martha Elenor Maguire, known as Martie Maguire, is an American musician and founding member of the all-female alternative country band The Chicks (formerly known as The Dixie Chicks) and country bluegrass duo Court Yard Hounds. Born on October 12, 1969, Maguire began her musical journey at a young age, winning awards in national fiddle championships as a teenager. In addition to the fiddle, she is proficient in several other instruments, including the mandolin, viola, double bass, and guitar. Maguire's songwriting and co-writing skills have contributed to the band's success, with many of their songs becoming chart-topping hits. She also showcases her vocal harmony and backing vocal abilities, along with orchestrating string arrangements for the band.
