Martin Bashir
Martin Henry Bashir (born 19 January 1963) is a British former journalist and television presenter. He gained prominence for his work on the BBC's Panorama programme, where he served as a presenter from 1986 to 1999. Notably, he conducted an interview with Diana, Princess of Wales in 1995, which later became controversial due to Bashir's use of forgery and deception to secure the interview. Bashir also worked for ITV, presenting a documentary about Michael Jackson in 2003. He later moved to the United States, where he worked as an anchor for ABC's Nightline, a political commentator for MSNBC, and a correspondent for NBC's Dateline NBC. Bashir returned to the BBC in 2016 as a religious affairs correspondent.
