Martin Shakar Biography
Martin Shakar is an American theatre, film, and television actor born on January 1, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan. He comes from an Armenian/Assyrian family originating from Adıyaman, Turkey and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Shakar is a life member of The Actors Studio and has a diverse portfolio of performances in Broadway and off-Broadway productions. He has appeared in 15 films since 1976, with his most notable role being Frank Manero, Jr. in Saturday Night Fever, where he played the older brother to John Travolta's Tony Manero. Shakar has made multiple appearances in television shows such as The Equalizer and Law & Order, portraying different characters each time. Additionally, he has showcased his talent in various television advertisements, often portraying Italian or Arab roles.
