Martin Hayter Short (born March 26, 1950) is a Canadian actor, comedian, singer, and writer. He gained prominence for his roles in sketch comedy and is known for his work on television programs like SCTV and Saturday Night Live. Short has acted in numerous films and television shows, and has received accolades including two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award. He created the characters Jiminy Glick and Ed Grimley. Short has also had an active career on stage, starring in Broadway productions such as The Goodbye Girl and Little Me, for which he won a Tony Award.
