Mary Chieffo

Mary Elizabeth Chieffo is an American actress known for her portrayal of Klingon L'Rell on the television series Star Trek: Discovery. Born on November 7, 1992, in Los Angeles, California, Chieffo is the daughter of actors Michael Chieffo and Beth Grant. She attended the Drama division of Juilliard School in New York City, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2015. Chieffo came out publicly as a lesbian on the red carpet prior to the Star Trek Day event in September 2021, and later confirmed her relationship with writer and actor Madi Goff. She continues to be an influential figure in the entertainment industry.
