Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker is an American actress born on August 2, 1964. She gained recognition for her Broadway debut in 1990, earning a Tony Award nomination for her role in Craig Lucas' Prelude to a Kiss. Parker became known for her film roles in movies such as Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), and Boys on the Side (1995), among others. She received critical acclaim for her stage and independent film appearances and won the 2001 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her performance in David Auburn's Proof. Parker also had a recurring role as Amy Gardner in the NBC series The West Wing from 2001 to 2006, earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2002.
