Mary Sue Milliken

Mary Sue Milliken is an American chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and radio and TV personality. She is known for her focus on Latin cuisine in the United States. Milliken graduated from Chicago's Washburne Culinary & Hospitality Institute. After working together in Chicago and Paris, Milliken and her longtime collaborator, Susan Feniger, settled in Los Angeles where they founded City Café in 1981. They later opened Border Grill, a Mexican restaurant, in the original City Café space before expanding to other locations. Milliken and Feniger also opened Ciudad in Los Angeles in 1998. Their success has earned them recognition for changing Los Angeles' culinary landscape.
