Matthew Raymond Dillon, born on February 18, 1964, is an American actor known for his versatile performances. Dillon began his acting career in the late 1970s and gained popularity as a teen idol through films like Over the Edge (1979), My Bodyguard (1980), and Little Darlings (1980). He further showcased his talent by starring in adaptations of S. E. Hinton books, including Tex (1982), Rumble Fish (1983), and The Outsiders (1983). Throughout the 1990s, Dillon achieved critical acclaim for his roles in movies like Drugstore Cowboy (1989), Beautiful Girls (1996), and There's Something About Mary (1998). He received an Academy Award nomination and Grammy nomination for his exceptional work. In addition to acting, Dillon made his directing debut with City of Ghosts (2002).
