Matt Whelan

Matt Whelan is a New Zealand actor and comedian, known for his roles in various television shows and series. He was born in 1985 in Christchurch, Canterbury on the South Island of New Zealand. Whelan graduated from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School, where he completed a Bachelor of Performing Arts in acting in 2007. Shortly after graduating, he joined the cast of Show of Hands, performing alongside Melanie Lynskey. Whelan gained recognition for his portrayal of Brad Caulfield in the television comedy-drama programme Go Girls. He also played the role of Hugh Hefner in the Amazon Original series American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story, and portrayed DEA agent Van Ness in the Netflix original series Narcos.
