Matthew Wolfenden

Matthew Wolfenden (born 5 May 1980) is an English actor known for his role as David Metcalfe in the British soap opera Emmerdale. Born in Norwood Green, West Yorkshire, Wolfenden was a member of the British gymnastics squad until a back injury ended his gymnastics career. He then turned to acting and was a cast member in the musical Saturday Night Fever before joining Emmerdale. Initially hired as an extra, he later auditioned for the role of Eli Dingle but was cast as David Metcalfe, the son of Eric Pollard. Wolfenden has also appeared in Hollyoaks: Let Loose, a spin-off of Hollyoaks.
