Maureen Dowd
Maureen Brigid Dowd (born January 14, 1952) is an American columnist for The New York Times and an author. She began her journalism career in the 1970s, working for The Washington Star and Time. Dowd joined The New York Times in 1983 as a metropolitan reporter and later became an op-ed writer in 1995. She gained recognition for her series of columns on the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal, which earned her a Pulitzer Prize in 1999. Dowd was born in Washington, DC, and graduated from Immaculata High School in 1969. She holds a B.A. in English from the Catholic University of America, which she received in 1973.
