Maureen Lipman

Maureen Lipman, born on May 10, 1946 in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, is an English actress, writer, and comedian. She is best known for her stage work, including appearances with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. Lipman trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. In 2020, she was honored with the title of Dame in the Queen's Birthday Honours for her contributions to charity, entertainment, and the arts. Lipman grew up in a Jewish household and attended Wheeler Primary School and Newland School for Girls in Hull. She developed a passion for performing at a young age and has become a highly respected figure in the industry.
