Maury Povich Biography
Maurice Richard Povich, born on January 17, 1939, is a retired American television personality. Povich is best known for hosting the tabloid talk show Maury, which aired from 1991 to 2022. Before his television career, Povich began as a radio reporter, starting at WWDC. In the late 1980s, he gained national fame as the host of the tabloid infotainment TV show A Current Affair, based at Fox's New York flagship station WNYW. In 1991, Povich co-produced his own show, The Maury Povich Show, which was later rebranded as Maury in 1998. Povich was born into a Jewish family in Washington, D.C., and graduated from the Landon School in 1957. He obtained a degree in television journalism from the University of Pennsylvania in 1962.
