Max Brooks (born May 22, 1972) is an American author known for his focus on zombie stories. He is the son of comedian Mel Brooks and actress Anne Bancroft. Born in Manhattan, New York City, Brooks has had an illustrious career in writing and has become a notable figure in the world of horror fiction. In addition to his writing, he is also a senior fellow at the Modern War Institute at West Point, New York.
