Max Gail Biography
Max Gail is an American actor known for his stage, television, and film roles. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Detective Stan 'Wojo' Wojciehowicz on the sitcom Barney Miller, which earned him two consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Additionally, he has won the Daytime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Mike Corbin on the soap opera General Hospital in 2019 and 2021. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Gail was raised in Grosse Ile and attended Williams College. Before pursuing acting, he worked as an instructor for the University Liggett School. Gail made his acting debut in 1970 and played Chief Bromden in the original stage production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
