Maya Moore is an American former professional basketball player, born on June 11, 1989. She gained recognition for her outstanding career and numerous achievements in women's basketball. In high school, Moore was honored as the National Gatorade Player of the Year and the Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year. She also represented the McDonald's All-American team. Moore played as a forward for the UConn women's basketball team, leading them to back-to-back national championships in 2009 and 2010. She was awarded the prestigious John Wooden Award in 2009. Moore made history by becoming the first female basketball player to sign with Air Jordan. Her contributions to the sport have solidified her status as one of the greatest winners in women's basketball history.
