Meg Wolitzer Biography
Meg Wolitzer (born May 28, 1959) is an American novelist, known for her works such as The Wife, The Ten-Year Nap, The Uncoupling, The Interestings, and The Female Persuasion. She was born in Brooklyn and raised in Syosset, New York. Wolitzer's parents are novelist Hilma Wolitzer and psychologist Morton Wolitzer, and she was raised in a Jewish household. She attended Smith College and graduated from Brown University in 1981. Wolitzer wrote her first novel, Sleepwalking, while still an undergraduate. Her other notable books include Hidden Pictures, This Is Your Life, Surrender, Dorothy, The Position, and The Uncoupling. She currently works as an instructor in the MFA program at Stony Brook Southampton.
