M'el Dowd

M'el Dowd (February 2, 1933 – September 26, 2012) was an American stage, musical theatre, and film actress, as well as a singer. With a career spanning over five decades, she began with Shakespeare roles and films in the 1950s, and continued performing on stage, film, and television well into the 21st century. Dowd originated the role of Morgan le Fay in the musical Camelot and appeared frequently on Broadway in the 1960s. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she studied at the Goodman Theatre before moving to New York City. Dowd married Henri G. Eudes in 1962 and they had one son. She made her professional debut Off-Broadway in the 1950s and subsequently appeared on Broadway.
