Mel Stewart

Mel Stewart (1929-2002) was an American character actor, television director, and musician known for his work in films and television shows from the 1960s to the 1990s. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Henry Jefferson on All in the Family and section chief Billy Melrose on Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Stewart also appeared in Broadway shows such as Purlie Victorious, The Hostage, The Cool World, and Simply Heavenly. Additionally, he had a notable career as a voice actor, providing narration for Charles Mingus' album A Modern Jazz Symposium of Music and Poetry. Stewart's talent and versatility made him a respected figure in the entertainment industry.
