Melanie Bracewell, also known as Mel Bracewell, is a New Zealand comedian, actress, and scriptwriter. Born on July 19, 1995, in Beach Haven, Auckland, Bracewell grew up in a family with a cricket background, being the niece of Test cricketers John Bracewell and Brendon Bracewell. She attended Birkenhead College and later studied Communication and Media Studies at the University of Auckland. Bracewell's interest in comedy started at a young age, and she began writing a comedic blog as a teenager. She has since transitioned into stand-up comedy and has achieved notable success. Bracewell also has experience in radio and has appeared on various TV shows, including the Australian quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention?. Currently, she co-hosts The Cheap Seats and is a contestant on Taskmaster NZ.
