Melanie Hill is a British actress, born on January 11, 1962. She is well-known for her roles in various television series. Hill portrayed Hazel Redfern in the popular show Auf Wiedersehen, Pet from 1985 to 1986. She also played the character Aveline in the sitcom Bread from 1986 to 1991. Hill has appeared in several other TV shows, including Playing the Field (1998-2002), Waterloo Road (2012-2015), The Syndicate (2015), Coronation Street (2015-2022), and Casualty (2024). Prior to her acting career, Hill studied at Monkwearmouth School in Sunderland and later attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She has received recognition for her talent, winning the Vanbrugh award during her time at RADA.
