Melina Kanakaredes

Melina Kanakaredes Constantinides, commonly known as Melina Kanakaredes, is an American actress. She was born on April 23, 1967, in Akron, Ohio. Kanakaredes gained widespread recognition for her notable roles in various primetime television dramas. She portrayed Dr. Sydney Hansen in Providence from 1999 to 2002, Detective Stella Bonasera in CSI: NY from 2004 to 2010, and played the character of Eleni Andros Cooper in the American daytime television drama series Guiding Light from 1991 to 1995. Kanakaredes is a second-generation Greek-American and is fluent in Greek. She began her acting career at a young age and graduated from Firestone High School in Akron before attending Ohio State University.
