Melissa De Sousa

Melissa De Sousa is an American actress known for her roles in various film and television projects. She gained recognition for her portrayal of Shelby in the romantic comedy-drama film The Best Man (1999), its sequel The Best Man Holiday (2013), and the Peacock series The Best Man: The Final Chapters (2022). Additionally, she has appeared as Gabriella Jimenez in BET's Reed Between the Lines (2011) and Ana Lopez in Black Lightning. De Sousa was born and raised in New York City and received her education at the High School of Performing Arts. Prior to her acting career, she was a principal dancer with The Alvin Ailey American Dance Company.
