Mercia Deane-Johns

Mercia Deane-Johns is an Australian actress, writer, singer, and stand-up comedian. Born on February 21, 1958, in Melbourne, she began her acting career at the age of 12 and has since played a variety of characters on film, stage, and television. Deane-Johns received training in Television and Film at Crawford Productions in 1974 and studied ballet at the Gertrud Bodenwieser Dance Centre in Sydney. She is also skilled in classical piano, having achieved a Sixth Grade Level. Additionally, she holds a diploma in classical singing and theory of music from the London College of Music. Deane-Johns was on a contract with the Melbourne Theatre Company in 1978 and has studied Tai Chi. She attended Southern Cross University from 2006 to 2010, earning a Bachelor's degree.
