Michael Bennet
Michael Farrand Bennet is an American attorney, businessman, and politician. Born on November 28, 1964, he has served as the senior United States senator from Colorado since 2009. Bennet, a member of the Democratic Party, was appointed to the seat when Senator Ken Salazar became Secretary of the Interior. Prior to his political career, Bennet worked as a managing director for the Anschutz Investment Company and served as the chief of staff to Denver mayor John Hickenlooper. He also held the position of superintendent of Denver Public Schools. Bennet earned his Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School and gained experience as a law clerk and counsel to the U.S. Deputy Attorney General during the administration of Bill Clinton.
