Michael Constantine (1927-2021) was an American actor best known for his portrayal of Kostas 'Gus' Portokalos in the film 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' (2002) and its sequel. He gained recognition for his television work, particularly for his role as Seymour Kaufman on ABC's 'Room 222,' which earned him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1970. Constantine also appeared as night court magistrate Matthew J. Sirota on the sitcom 'Sirota's Court' in 1976. Born as Gus Efstratiou in Reading, Pennsylvania, Constantine had a successful career spanning both film and television.
