Michael James Esper is an American actor, born on December 1, 1975, in Manhattan. He was raised in Montclair, New Jersey, and is the son of acting teachers William and Suzanne Esper. Esper attended Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn Heights before pursuing his studies at Rutgers University, following a year at Oberlin College. Known for his stage work, he has appeared on Broadway in productions such as Sting's The Last Ship, A Man for All Seasons, Green Day's American Idiot, and The Lyons. Esper also starred in Off-Broadway premieres including Leslye Headland's Assistance, Nicky Silver's The Lyons, and Tony Kushner's The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures.
