Michael Fassbender is an Irish actor born on April 2, 1977. He has received several nominations for prestigious awards, including two Academy Awards, four BAFTA Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards. Fassbender made his feature film debut in the 2006 movie 300 and gained attention for his roles in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers (2001) and the Sky One drama Hex (2004-2005). He rose to prominence with his portrayal of IRA volunteer Bobby Sands in Hunger (2008), winning a British Independent Film Award.
