Michael James Galeota (August 28, 1984 – January 10, 2016) was an American actor best known for his role as Nick Lighter in the Disney Channel series The Jersey. Born in Smithtown, New York, Galeota had three brothers and graduated from Bellarmine-Jefferson High School in 2002. In January 2016, he was hospitalized for abdominal pains but left treatment against medical advice. On January 10, he was found dead at his home in Glendale, California at the age of 31. The precise cause of death was revealed to be cardiovascular disease and hypertension. Galeota had several health problems, including hypertension, high cholesterol, and diverticulitis.
