Michael J. Fox Biography
Michael Andrew Fox, professionally known as Michael J. Fox, is a Canadian and American activist and retired actor. He gained fame in the 1980s for his roles as Alex P. Keaton on the sitcom Family Ties and Marty McFly in the Back to the Future film trilogy. Fox's other notable film credits include Teen Wolf, The Secret of My Success, Casualties of War, Doc Hollywood, and The Frighteners. He returned to television on the sitcom Spin City, playing the lead role of Mike Flaherty. In 1998, Fox revealed his diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and became an advocate for finding a cure. He founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2000 to support research. Fox also voiced characters in films such as Stuart Little and Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
