Michael J. Nelson Biography
Michael John Nelson is an American comedian and writer, best known for his work on the television series Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K). Born on October 11, 1964, in St. Charles, Illinois, Nelson spent half of MST3K's eleven-year run as the on-air host and head writer. He is currently part of the online movie riffing site RiffTrax and was previously involved in the Film Crew with other MST3K alumni. Nelson studied theatre and music at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls before moving to the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area. Prior to his comedy career, he worked as a waiter at T.G.I. Friday's and did occasional stand-up performances.
