    Michael James Scott is an American actor and singer, best known for his portrayal of the Genie in Disney's Aladdin musical. Born on May 24, 1981, in Baltimore, Maryland, Scott began his acting career as a child, appearing in commercials, TV shows, and musicals. He attended Rock Springs Elementary school in Apopka, Florida, and later studied at the Dr. Phillips High School Visual and Performing Arts Program. Scott trained with Ann Reinking's Broadway Theatre Project and obtained his BFA degree at The Conservatory of Theatre Arts program at Webster University. He has performed in various TV shows, theatre productions, and singing engagements before gaining recognition for his role in Aladdin.
