Michael Mastro
Michael Mastro (born June 1, 1925) is an American real estate developer who had a successful career managing apartments and mid-size office parks in Seattle for forty years. In 2009, he declared bankruptcy, which has been regarded as the largest personal bankruptcy in the history of Washington state. Following his bankruptcy, Mastro and his wife, Linda, relocated to France in 2011. However, in 2012, they were arrested in Lake Annecy, French Alps, and faced extradition hearings. After several months of house arrest, they were released in June 2013 when a French court denied their extradition request. Despite their involvement in stealing the life savings of elderly individuals, the court determined that they were too elderly to potentially be incarcerated.
