Michael McElhatton

Michael McElhatton (born September 12, 1963) is an Irish actor and writer. He is well-known for his role as Roose Bolton in the HBO series Game of Thrones, which he played from the second season until the sixth season. He was promoted to a regular cast member from the fifth season onwards. McElhatton was born in Terenure, Dublin, and studied acting at Terenure College. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in 1987. After returning to Ireland, he began his acting career in theatre and television. McElhatton has appeared in various series and TV films throughout the late nineties and early 2000s.
