Michael Moreland Biography
Michael J. Moreland (born December 9, 1962) is an American politician, lawyer, and former state representative. Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, Moreland earned a bachelor's degree from Creighton University and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law. He practiced family law alongside his political career. Moreland entered politics as a Democratic Party candidate and won the District 93 seat in the Iowa House of Representatives in 1992, serving until 1999. During his tenure, he advocated for penalties against drunk driving and supported tax cuts. After leaving the legislature, Moreland led the non-profit organization, Bridge View Center, Inc.
