Shetland is a Scottish crime drama series based on the novels by crime writer Ann Cleeves. It first aired on BBC One in 2013 and is produced by ITV Studios for BBC Scotland. The show primarily follows DI Jimmy Pérez and his team as they unravel crimes within the close-knit island community of Shetland, known for its isolated and sometimes inhospitable environment. The series has received critical acclaim, with Douglas Henshall winning the 2016 BAFTA Scotland award for best actor and the show itself being honored as Best TV Drama.
