Michael Pennington Biography
Michael Vivian Fyfe Pennington (born 7 June 1943) is a British actor, director, and writer. He co-founded the English Shakespeare Company in 1986 and served as its Joint Artistic Director until 1992. Pennington has directed productions in the UK, US, Romania, and Japan. He is also an Honorary Associate Artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company. In addition to his work in theater, Pennington is known for his role as Moff Jerjerrod in the original Star Wars trilogy film Return of the Jedi. He was born in Cambridge, England, and grew up in London. Pennington attended Marlborough College and studied English at Trinity College, Cambridge. After graduating, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and later worked independently for eight years.
