Michael Anthony Richards is an American actor, writer, television producer, and comedian best known for his role as Cosmo Kramer on the television sitcom Seinfeld. Born on July 24, 1949, Richards began his career as a stand-up comedian and gained national recognition through appearances on Billy Crystal's cable TV special and as a series regular on ABC's Fridays. He made guest appearances on various television shows, including Cheers. Richards has also appeared in several films such as So I Married an Axe Murderer, Airheads, and UHF. From 1989 to 1998, he portrayed Kramer on Seinfeld, earning three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Richards later starred in his own sitcom, The Michael Richards Show.
