Michael Smiley Biography
Michael Smiley (born 1963) is a Northern Irish comedian and actor. He is known for his roles in films such as Kill List (2011) and The Lobster (2015). Smiley has also made television appearances in British series including Luther, Utopia, Black Mirror, and Doctor Who. Born in 1963 in Belfast and raised in Holywood, Smiley grew up in a Catholic family. He moved to London in 1983 and began doing stand-up comedy in 1993. Smiley became well-known for his role as Tyres O'Flaherty in the sitcom Spaced. He has also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Smiley has portrayed diverse characters, including a former member of the British Army's Parachute Regiment in the film Outpost and a zombie in Shaun of the Dead.
