Michael Spears

Michael Spears is an Indigenous American actor born on December 28, 1977, in Chamberlain, South Dakota. He is a member of the Kul Wičaša Lakota from the Lower Brulé Sioux Tribe. Spears grew up on the Lower Brulé Indian Reservation and later moved to Pierre, South Dakota, and then to Aberdeen, where he graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1995. At the age of thirteen, he gained national recognition for his role as Otter in the Academy Award-winning film Dances with Wolves. Throughout his career, Spears has acted in both TV and film alongside notable actors like Kevin Costner, Jimmy Smits, and Kim Delaney, further establishing himself as a talented actor.
