Michael Urie Biography
Michael Urie is an American actor, best known for his role as Marc St. James on the ABC comedy drama series Ugly Betty. Born on August 8, 1980, in Houston, Texas, Urie was raised in Plano and is of Scottish and Italian descent. He graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1998 and went on to study at Collin County Community College before being accepted at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. Urie was a member of Juilliard's Drama Division's Group 32 from 1999 to 2003 and graduated in 2003. He received the 2002 John Houseman Prize for Excellence in Classical Theatre from Juilliard. In addition to his television work, Urie has also appeared in theater productions and can be heard in the podcast soap opera As the Curtain Rises.
