Michaela Angela Davis

Michaela Angela Davis is a writer, fashion expert, and image activist known for her work on African-American style, race, gender, and hip-hop culture. She was born on March 31, 1964, in Landshut, Germany, and raised in Washington, D.C. Davis began her studies at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and later attended New York University, where she studied at the Stella Adler Acting Conservatory and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. In 1991, she joined Essence as an associate fashion editor. Davis has since become a prominent voice in the fashion industry, advocating for diversity and inclusion. Her expertise has been featured in numerous publications and she continues to contribute to the cultural conversation.
