Michelle LaRue

Michelle LaRue is a conservation biologist and ecologist based at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. She has a Bachelor of Science in ecology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she researched the food habits of hoary bats and modeled white-tail deer populations. LaRue also holds a Master's degree in Zoology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she studied cougar habitat and dispersal. She obtained her doctorate in Conservation Biology from the University of Minnesota, focusing on using high-resolution satellite imagery to study population dynamics, biogeography, and threats to polar animals. LaRue has visited Antarctica multiple times and her research primarily centers around emperor penguins and crabeater seals.
