Mick Fanning is an Australian professional surfer born on June 13, 1981 in Penrith, New South Wales. He is known for his exceptional skills in surfing and has been crowned champion of the Association of Surfing Professionals/World Surf League (ASP/WSL)'s World Tour three times, in 2007, 2009, and 2013. Fanning started surfing at the age of three and honed his skills in Brown Bay near Mount Gambier before moving to Tweed Heads. He grew up with fellow professional surfer Joel Parkinson and attended Palm Beach Currumbin State High School together. Fanning's career took off in 1996 when he showcased his talent by placing in the top three at various Queensland points.
