Mick Hucknall

Mick Hucknall (born 8 June 1960) is an English singer and songwriter. He gained international fame in the 1980s as the lead singer and songwriter of the soul-influenced pop band Simply Red. With Simply Red, Hucknall enjoyed a successful 25-year career and sold over 50 million albums. He was recognized for his remarkable voice, described as one of the great blue-eyed soul singers. Hucknall was born in Manchester and raised in Denton by his father. His mother's abandonment at a young age inspired him to write the hit song 'Holding Back the Years'. Hucknall's contributions to music have left a lasting impact in the industry.
