Mickey Jones (June 10, 1941 – February 7, 2018) was an American musician and actor. He began his career as a drummer, playing with notable acts such as Trini Lopez and Bob Dylan on his 1966 world tour. He later became a founding member of The First Edition, collaborating with singer Kenny Rogers on all of their albums. Jones achieved considerable success in his musical career, playing on 17 gold records. After the break-up of The First Edition, he transitioned to a career as a character actor, making numerous appearances in both film and television. Jones was born in Houston, Texas, and attended Sunset High School in Dallas. He passed away in 2018.
