Mickey Rooney

Mickey Rooney (born Joseph Yule Jr.; other pseudonym Mickey Maguire; September 23, 1920 – April 6, 2014) was an American actor, producer, radio entertainer, and vaudevillian. From 1939 to 1941, Rooney was the top box-office attraction and one of the highest-paid actors of his time. He is best known for his role as Andy Hardy in a series of 16 films in the 1930s and 1940s, which became iconic representations of mainstream American culture. Rooney's versatility allowed him to transition into a celebrated character actor later in his career, earning praise from esteemed figures like Laurence Olivier.
