Micky Dolenz, born George Michael Dolenz Jr. on March 8, 1945, is an American actor, musician, TV producer, and businessman. He is best known as the drummer and one of the primary vocalists for the pop-rock band the Monkees, which was active from 1966 to 1970 and has had multiple reunions through 2021. Dolenz also co-starred in the TV series 'The Monkees' from 1966 to 1968. Born in Los Angeles, California, he is the son of actors George Dolenz and Janelle Johnson. Dolenz has three sisters, including Gemma Marie, who often performs as a member of his backing band during his concerts. Throughout his career, Dolenz has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry as an actor, musician, producer, and entrepreneur.
