Mike Farrell is an American actor and activist, born on February 6, 1939, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is best known for his role as Captain B.J. Hunnicutt on the popular television series M*A*S*H (1975–83). Farrell has also worked as a producer, overseeing films such as Patch Adams (1998), starring Robin Williams. He starred in the television series Providence (1999–2002) and has made guest appearances on various shows throughout his career. In addition to his acting career, Farrell is also known for his activism and public speaking on various political causes. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959 before pursuing acting as a profession.
